Jackson Hole Burgers in Queens makes one of the biggest burger in the city of New York, but it is not the best as they self-proclaim, and neither the tastiest in my opinion. Of course, taste is relative, what’s delicious for one, can be bland for another. But we're hamburger fanatics here at La Kombo laboratory, and could not rank the Jackson Hole Burger at number 1. The 7 oz. burger is impressive and looks more like 10 oz., and the East Sider Burger is topped with ham, bacon, mushroom, tomatoes, fried onions and American cheese. But this humongous grey patty is dry and flavorless, with a very loose texture that falls apart bites after bites. That being said, we did enjoy the visit; Jackson Hole Burgers are family owned restaurants and their Astoria location is a classic american diners with its distinct exterior structure of stainless steel, Art Deco aluminum blinds, tabletop jukeboxes and let’s not forget, the Goodfellas filming location for the scene where Ray Liotta and Robert De Niro are meeting at the Airline Diner, which the famous old neon ‘Airline’ sign has become part of the Jackson Hole burger franchise. Go taste it for yourself and pretend your days are counted like Henry.
